Valldemossa

Based in the Tramuntana mountains and the highest town in Mallorca, Valldemossa gives an incredible entrance when you see it for the first time. Sitting on a hilltop it has something majestic. Around the monastery you find beautiful townhouses, narrow streets and a lot of culture.

Facts & Tips:


  • The small streets of Valldemossa are perfect for some nice photos. It is very scenic and the flowers and plant pots standing in front of the houses give a special atmosphere.

  • Frédéric Chopin and his lover, the French writer George Sand are the main reason why this little village got so famous. Make sure you read her book ‘A Winter in Majorca’. You find it in almost every store in Valldemossa, printed in several languages.

  • Take a walk to the Port of Valldemossa! You will be surprised how lovely this small fisher harbour is - if you are looking for some calmness and flee from the tourists in the town.

  • The only saint of the island was born here: Santa Catalina Thomas.
